It Doesn't Mean...
It doesn't mean that if you're rich, you'll be happy
It doesn't mean that if you're a fitness fanatic, you're not going to fall sick
It doesn't mean that if you're wealthy, you can find true love
It doesn't mean that if you're successful, you will not feel like you still have nothing
It doesn't mean that if you're a social butterfly, you will find true friendships
It doesn't mean that if you go on a holiday, your problems will disappear
It doesn't mean that if you're kind, nothing bad will happen to you
It doesn't mean that if something bad happened to you, you have done something wrong
It doesn't mean that if a person looks normal, he/she isn't suffering from mental disorders
It doesn't mean that if you're vegan, you will be healthy
It doesn't mean that if a person shows a lifestyle of wealth, travels and fashion on social media, he/she isn't an insecure, ball of mess deep inside
It doesn't mean that if you exercise, you are healthier than the person who doesn't
It doesn't mean that if a person is living the coveted life, he/she isn't in mountains of debt
It doesn't mean that if you tried losing weight, you'll be losing the weight of your burdens
It doesn't mean that if a person is always smiling and laughing, he/she is happy
It doesn't mean that if the world tells you something, they are telling you the truth
It doesn't mean that if you have been given the all clear, your illness wouldn't return
It doesn't mean that if you are a doctor, you'd be immune to illnesses
It doesn't mean that if you play it safe, an accident wouldn't happen to you
It doesn't mean that if you changed jobs because you hated your boss, you wouldn't have exactly the same type of boss in your next job
It doesn't mean that if you are a top student with good grades all your life, you wouldn't end up with a broken relationship
It doesn't mean that if you followed every instruction there is on gardening, you would be guaranteed green fingers
It doesn't mean that if you have the latest gadgets, you can keep up with your true emotional desires
It doesn't mean that if you had a high-paying, top-management job, you are necessarily a respectful, considerate and mindful person
It doesn't mean that if you ran away from your problems, they can't find you anymore
Note: This post contains my own observations about people around me.
There is a Chinese proverb that goes "人不可貌相,海水不可斗量 " (meaning: You can't judge a person by his/her appearance, just as you can't measure the sea with a pint pot) If what we see can be so deceiving, let's not judge a person or a situation before understanding their back stories.
The world isn't what it seems, and nothing in life is guaranteed. Every one of us is on our own individual journeys of discoveries, that no one else can assist in, or substitute. The hard work must be done. (I've replaced it with 'heart work', because this is a lifetime project to understand ourselves, to uncover our true happiness)
I'd like you to take away this thought:
Whatever you think, think the opposite.
